Regarding: The project for construction of the Ljulin Motorway
Dear Mr. Velchev,
We would like to express our deep concern about the development of the Ljulin Motorway project, as a result of the public consultations on the revised Environmental Impact Assessment report. The meetings, part of the consultation process, undoubtedly demonstrated the unwillingness of the investor, Road Executive Agency, to consider the public opinion regarding the route for the Ljulin Motorway. Therefore, we would like to request the following steps to be taken in order more transparency and adequate public involvement to be ensured:
1. Establishment of a local people Steering Committee on the project implementation.
2. A Steering Committee representative to participate into the High Environmental Expert Council meeting when the revised EIA will be discussed.
3. A Steering Committee representative to attend the Sixth ISPA Monitoring Committee meeting in Plovdiv.
We hope to receive a response on our request as soon as possible. We would be glad to provide any further information or clarification regarding the reasons for our proposal. We would like to thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.
Sincerely yours,
