Our country does not comply with the European Union’s standards for fine particulate matter and has been condemned for this. According to the World Health Organization, over 97% of Bulgarians are exposed to levels of this pollutant that are harmful to our health.

Za Zemata works to inform citizens about the problem, build a network of active citizens and organizations, find and implement solutions, and advocate before state and municipal authorities. Our focus is on the main sources of pollution and the implementation of appropriate measures to address them: domestic heating with solid fuels, transport and industry, as well as the social aspect of the problem.
