I WANT TO SIGN
In support of the residents of the villages of Beli Bryag and Troyanovo
The village of Beli Bryag, Stara Zagora region, is planned to disappear from the map because there is an insignificant amount (less than 1 m thick) of low-calorie lignite coal in the ground beneath it. This was decided back in 1982 by the People’s Republic of Bulgaria as part of the plan for the development of coal energy in the Maritsa Basin.
For connected, convenient, and safe bike lanes in Sofia
Our city is suffocating from cars. They dominate traffic, hinder the normal operation of ground-based urban transport, and occupy a large part of the limited public space for the infrastructure needed for their movement and for parking spaces. Politicians, citizens, scientists, experts, and extensive international experience indicate that mass bicycle transport is a viable alternative for reducing car traffic, which is polluting in many ways, and for creating a better living environment in cities.

ABOUT the deposit system in Bulgaria
A “refundable deposit” is an additional amount that consumers pay when purchasing a product, which they can get back when they return the packaging or product to a collection point, usually in any store.
The system is based on an economic incentive for consumers to return empty packaging to ensure that it is reused or recycled. More than 50 countries around the world have already introduced similar systems, which are showing excellent results with over 80% of packaging being returned.
Sign the petition Sofia without a waste incineration plant
To Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav DONCHEV, Commissioner Elisa FERREIRA, Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms, European Commission Werner Hoyer, President of the European Investment Bank.
Copy to: Yordanka FANDYKOVA, Mayor of Sofia Municipality, Montserrat DOLORS, Chair of the Committee on Petitions, European Parliament.
We, the citizens of the Republic of Bulgaria, insist on the immediate halt of the project for the construction of a waste incineration plant and the investment of funds in a complete overhaul of the waste management system. The current crisis situation highlights even more clearly the need for change in the management of public funds and the need to invest in people to create sustainable and innovative solutions, including waste management.

Letter against the waste incineration plant in Sofia
The planned waste incineration plant at TPP Sofia will worsen air quality, compromise the already inefficient separate waste collection system, encourage the burning of imported waste, and prevent the city from becoming a green European capital. The incinerator condemns our city to dependence on waste incineration for the next 30 years.
